Do Something Good Today!

10/01/19

10/01/19 - Gafcon takes environmental and social responsibility personally, and so does our tribe.

Gafcon, Inc. is committed to creating value for our communities by engaging in philanthropic endeavors that leverage the synergy of our firm’s character and heritage. From charitable donations and volunteering to robust sustainability practices within our offices and project sites, Gafcon endeavors to inspire positive impact.
Our tradition of giving extends beyond office hours, reaching deep into the community through the passion of our dedicated tribe. Here are just a few of the causes our team is most passionate about.

Robin Duveen
President & COO
American Cancer Society
"Cancer is the one disease that affects the lives of nearly everyone you know—whether you’re a fighter, survivor, or supporter. Contributing to important scientific research through the American Cancer Society, as well as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is just one way of demonstrating my commitment to fighting this disease—Gafcon also walks in the Making Strides event annually."
Ron Takaki
VP of Operations
American Heart Association & The Sierra Club
"Heart health is an important cause for me as both my mother and uncle died from heart disease. This is a big part of why hiking all over our beautiful state has become such an integral part of my life and why I contribute to the American Heart Association, as well as The Sierra Club. Without safeguarding our environment and practicing sustainability (I am a LEED certified professional, after all), my hikes will be a lot less satisfying!"
Marty Glaske
VP of Labor Relations
Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Mud Run
"My father, brother, and I are all military veterans. Because of this, I am passionate about raising awareness and funds for our military families in San Diego. The Camp Pendleton Mud Run raises money for military families. Since my Gafcon tribe and I have started participating in the event, in 2007, we have had over 500 participants, and raised over $50,000 for the families of our serving heroes."
Tiffany LaBruno
Director of Professional Services
The Arc of San Diego
"I have two disabled family members and have volunteered in this community most of my life. The ARC provides people with disabilities everything from advocacy to early intervention, education, independent and residential living, as well as vocational training and job placement. As Vice Chair of their San Diego Chapter and member of their Board of Directors, I am proud to represent ARC."

Through the years, Gafcon has developed a robust collection of causes throughout the world that we contribute—through charitable donations or volunteering our time. Click here to see our philanthropy brochure and learn more.
