“Gafcon [has] dedicated professionals who can naturally capture the complex physical needs of an educational institution, set realistic goals, and [who] possess the foresight and the wherewithal to get these goals accomplished.”
Bakersfield College, Kern Community College District
Gafcon oversaw the planning, design, and construction of their College Safety Repair and Improvement (SRID) bond, known as Measure G. The bond financed the construction of new buildings and renovation of existing buildings to meet the growing population and educational requirements of the District. Kern Community College District is one of the largest community college districts in the U.S., spanning across four counties and serving more than 44,000 students annually. The bond program includes the renovation of four community colleges, five satellite campuses, and development of two sites for new college campuses.
Gafcon also provided staff augmentation services to fill the role of the District’s Director of Facilities. Gafcon worked with District staff to successfully integrate program/project cost management software with the District’s Banner Finance accounting system, develop the District’s design standards manual, and develop program management and construction management processes throughout the District and campuses.
