Gafcon, Inc. Continues to Grow in Los Angeles

11/18/20

LOS ANGELES (Monday Jan. 29, 2018)---Building on its reputation as a leader in Southern California construction management, Gafcon, Inc. has opened a new Los Angeles office in a historic building at 660 S. Figueroa St., Suite 1790.

Over their 30-year history, Gafcon has managed notable projects in the Los Angeles region, including work at UCLA, the Los Angeles Forum, Los Angeles Community College District, The Accelerated Schools and the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Gafcon is also providing project management services for the AltaSea at the Port of LA project. AltaSea is a 35-acre historic site at the Port of Los Angeles undergoing redevelopment to accelerate scientific collaboration, job creation and strengthen the Blue Technology and marine science industries.

Recently, Gafcon led the repurposing of Culver City’s historic National Guard Armory Building for the Wende Museum of Cold War art. The Wende hosted its grand opening in November 2017.

“We have a long history of working in the Los Angeles region and a deep respect for the intellectual and creative assets here,” firm’s founder, Yehudi “Gaf” Gaffen said. “Our larger Los Angeles office will allow us to stay more closely connected to the city and offers a fantastic location in a historic building.”

The company’s Los Angeles team will focus on Gafcon’s core areas of expertise, including support services for owners, developers and public entities through entitlements, program and project management, as well as construction management. Gafcon serves both public and private clients in a variety of markets, including waterfront, educational, high-rise, mixed-use, retail, municipal, and residential.

“Our office is managing a large HVAC retrofit program in partnership with the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District and is providing construction management services for modernization projects at Orange Unified School District’s Canyon High School. In addition, we just completed the Accelerated Charter Elementary School in Los Angeles,” said Dale Noriyuki, Regional Director for Gafcon’s Los Angeles location.

Gafcon’s new Los Angeles office features a collaborative workspace with design details echoing those of the firm’s headquarters in San Diego. Colors, textures and art in all Gafcon offices reflect Gaffen’s South African heritage.
