What is eGafcon?

eGafcon is the internet entry point to Gafcon. It is an integrated and personalized web-based platform to information, applications, collaboration and web services and self-site creation and management. Enterprise-wide content management, distribution and aggregation is targeted and delivered to all divisions within the organization without requiring any web skills or IT involvement. It is built on methodologies from Microsoft, leveraging the extensible .Net framework, Office integration capabilities and the scalability of SQL Server, Exchange Server, Windows Server 2003, IIS Server, and SharePoint Server.

The IT Department supports all departments of Gafcon

The IT Department maintains, supports, upgrades, designs and installs all departments’ server (Exchange Server, SQL Server, Project Server, IIS Server, SharePoint Server and several application servers), networking and topology, video conferencing and desktop level hardware and software including training. Additionally, all Gafcon and Gafcon project data is centrally hosted at the corporate office in San Diego. The IT Department is responsible for maintaining the company’s WANs, LANs and WLANs including network layer 2 and 3 devices, firewalls, web servers, database and e-mail servers, and supports a Citrix/Terminal Services environment. In-house R & D and software engineering provide the organization with custom handheld and database applications for various departments.
